| The lobby area is very beautiful in every single detail. After entering the hotel the staircase leads to the upper floor. The elegant dignity of centenary marble, offers a unique touch of sumptuous to the main stairs, decorated with materials of exceptional quality. |

| A wealthy Lisbon lawyer built this appealing edifice just over a century ago; the city he most loved after his native Lisbon was that of the Doges and thus the depiction of gondolas and the Rialto Bridge which greets you when you pass beneath Veneza's arched entrance. This slightly whimsical decor continues as you climb up the stairway past a striking multi-colored mural of Lisbon houses stepped up a little hillside. It is a festive entree to what ranks among the friendliest and most reliable capital's small hotels. The reception and bar are in much modern style and in both rooms there is a curiosly eclectic melange of classical and modern art; the breakfast room is a quieter, darker, rather more serious place. Take the lift or the fine sweep of stairs to your room; large Chinese vases in the corridors strike an oriental note while bedrooms are different again. They are large, carpeted and comfortable, have smart rattan furniture and are decorated in pinky-beige with green fabric on bedspread and curtain. All the extras are on tap: images via satellite, drinks from the minibar, service via your phone, a/c. Great location in the heart of this vibrant city, half-way along its main thoroughfare. And good news for motorists: the Veneza has its own car park immediately behind the hotel. |
