In spite of its excellent location next to the Hotel Danieli facing the Grand Canal, this hotel has never been well known by Americans. Formerly it was a quiet three-star hotel. Now under new ownership, a top-to-bottom renovation has been completed covering all accommodations. There are numerous extra touches such as fresh flowers in the lobby. We recommend the beautifully appointed junior suites (and suites), all of which face the Grand Canal, and some of which have small balconies. All rooms feature beautiful wood trim, luxurious fabrics, upholstered walls, satellite television, minibar, and in-room safe. The tiled bathrooms, while not extraordinary, have been completely renewed. The hotel does have many rooms without canal view which are less expensive. The warm and wonderful family that has been recreating the hotel also owns the popular La Madonna Restaurant, located a short walk from the Rialto Bridge. The restaurant located within the hotel serves full American buffet breakfast for hotel guests, in addition to lunch and dinner. Staff is very gracious and housekeeping is excellent. This hotel has become one of the most popular in Venice.
